The Early Years Trial was exactly that, an Early Years Trial. By introducing Reception children to the computer keyboard it was hoped keyboard awareness would improve, typing speeds would increase along with computer confidence. Letter/number recognition and phonics introduction were all by-products as was the introduction to the transition from lower to upper case.
